Iran-Backed Hackers Disrupt US Local Water Authority

On 26 November 2023, a United States (US) news source reported a cyber-attack that affected the Municipal Water Authority of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania (PA). The incident specifically targeted computing devices manufactured by the Israel-based company Unitronics. Hackers, purportedly backed by Iran, have claimed responsibility for the attack, stating that any Israeli assets, both within Israel and abroad, are potential targets. The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) is actively involved in an ongoing investigation into the matter.
