Iran Gas Station Hit By Cyberattack

On Monday, 18 December 2023, 70 percent of gas stations across Iran were reportedly forced to reduce their operations as a result of a cyberattack.


The attack impacted a software used nationwide. The fuel stations were still able to operate manually. Yet, the event caused significant disruptions.



An alleged hacktivist group named "Gonjeshke Darande" claimed the attack. Based on the level of sophsitication, Gonjeshke Darande may be a state-sponsored actor. However, avaialble sources offer no conclusive attribution to any government.
