While preparation for the Black Hat Europe summit (4-7 December) is ongoing, analysts anticipate there will be demonstrations of high and critical severity vulnerabilities in operational technology (OT) and internet-of-things (IoT) routers used for 3G and 4G connectivity. The conference plans to address 21 vulnerabilities. It is crucial to pinpoint the importance of addressing such flaws; threat actors may exploit them to carry out intrusions across critical communication infrastructure and/or to pursue disruptive events. The concern is even greater in a context of global tensions wherein state-sponsored actors seek to impact adversaries' critical infrastructure.
